I am a sheet mulch believer. We’ve had very little rainfall and these flowers are beautiful! I do have the garden on a “smart” drip system set to go once a week, when there hasn’t been rain. Because the weather has been cool, the irrigation controller delivers a fraction of the water it would deliver in the height of summer. Nevertheless, when I dig under the wood chips in an area without irrigation, I find lovely MOIST soil. Cardboard + piles of wood chips=the best drought garden ever!

I always wanted to be a writer, but sometimes the kid that tagged along after her awesome Mr. Fix It Dad wants to come out and play. And then there are the plants that talk to me. Hmmm. What's a girl to do but follow her fancy? View all posts by Kinzie
